Our Alaskan Adventure

On the third day we went on a camping trip up the Selawik River. We packed up the boat with supplies and traveled up the river about 60 miles. We made camp on a sandbar at the spilt of the Tag and Selawik rivers. After setting up the camp we started fishing and immediately started to catch loads of pike and the occasional sheefish. The kids loved runing around on the sandbar and fishing with their Disney Princess and Cars fishing poles. Brooke got pretty good with hers and pulled in about three or four pike on her own. Adam also let her pull in a mighty big sheefish. Ethan enjoyed the camp fire and everyone enjoyed making smores. The only thing that dampen the mood was the rain. It rain the entire first night and off and on the rest of the trip, but we all still had a lot of fun. The rain caused the river to go up, which made the fishing not as good on the last day due to the water being made murky.

Cuddling because it is cold and wetBrooke showing everyone how it is done. With a three foot princess pole no less. Caleb got in on the action too.

Charity is liking fishing a little bit more at this point.

First Day In Selawik

On our first day in Selawik we went fishing for sheefish. And as you can see we caught quite a few. Charity caught the biggest one of the day but didn't want to have much to do with it. Ethan and Brooke both got to reel in some big ones as well. On the way back to the house Brooke got to drive Grandpa's fast jet boat.

On the way to the great fishing!
Bethany caught a nice one by herself.

Charity caught the biggest one, but didn't want to touch it. She is a city girl.
